Birds: Grassland Birds

Grassland birds can include birds that use grassland as their sole habitat as well as those that only use grassland for nesting and other activities. This subgroup of birds can still be found in every one of the 50 United States as well as throughout the rest of the globe. Grassland species have historically experienced varying population changes related to habitat changes such as land use and agricultural practices. These birds are currently in the midst of a nationwide decline ¹.
